It's starting to sink in
In 23 days, I'll be moving to a foreign country where I don't know anyone, don't speak the language ("猫はテーべルの下にいる" isn't going to get me very far) and don't have a definite job prospect lined up, and I'll be staying there for years. One at the minimum, maybe longer if we really like it--or if, say, the U.S. economy crashes and we don't want to come back for a while. I mean, I have a job lead from softlykarou's uncle (nepotism is what marriage is for, right?) but it's not guaranteed. I'm sure I'll find something, but it's the uncertainty that bothers me most. I don't know what I'm doing, I don't know exactly where we're going (Hiroshima prefecture is still all we know)...blah. That and I'll be moving away from everyone else and I'll be in an opposite time zone, so I won't really be able to talk to people except through time-delayed livejournal posts unless people are staying up on AIM until 3 in the morning. I can meet other ex-pats while I'm there, I guess, but if all I ever talk to is Americans, how am I going to practice my Japanese? Having to pay $2K for a plane ticket didn't put me in a good mood either. -_-

It's uncertain, at the moment. I think that's where my worries come from.

Wait, I thought you both were going to be JET program teachers? What is the deal? I'm a bit confused.
